Use an Online company like A Place for Mom to help.  When you enter assisted living communities into google you typically get large corporate websites that provide you information only after you have agreed to their terms.  These companies do not provide the same level of service and value.  You want to use an agency that meets you for a tour, not just a computer program.

Who is the decision maker.  Assisted Living decisions are typically made by the aging adult.  This means they will be on the tour, they will be spending their money and this should be the most attractive to them.

Understand the level of care and be able to tell your story.  As you are touring a new location you will want to know what an ordinary day is like for you or your loved one, what are your biggest challenges and hat is your current mobility status.
