These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the websites, information, referral services, and senior-care navigation services provided by San Luis Obispo Caregivers, a Referral Agency, and My Senior Navigator (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using our websites, contacting us, submitting an inquiry, or requesting our assistance, you acknowledge these Terms & Conditions.
1. Our Services
Our goal is to help seniors and their families understand and navigate caregiving, senior living, and related services.
Depending on your needs, our services may include:
- Referrals to independent caregivers
- Assistance identifying senior living options
- Assisted living and memory care placement assistance
- RCFE and board-and-care referrals
- Coordination of community tours and introductions
- General senior-care education and navigation
- Referrals to real estate professionals and other senior-related service providers
The specific services provided will depend on the needs of each individual or family.
2. San Luis Obispo Caregivers — Referral Agency
San Luis Obispo Caregivers operates as a caregiver referral agency.
We introduce clients and families to independent caregivers who may be interested in providing caregiving services.
Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing, caregivers referred through San Luis Obispo Caregivers are not employees of San Luis Obispo Caregivers.
Caregiver services, schedules, duties, rates, compatibility, and other aspects of the caregiving relationship are subject to the applicable client and caregiver agreements.
Clients should review those agreements carefully before beginning services.
3. Caregiver Screening
We may perform or facilitate screening procedures for caregivers participating in our referral network. These may include background screening, reference checks, identity verification, driving-related information, TB documentation, or other onboarding requirements.
Screening reduces certain risks but cannot guarantee a caregiver’s future conduct, performance, reliability, compatibility, or suitability for every client.
Families should participate actively in selecting a caregiver and promptly communicate any concerns.
4. My Senior Navigator — Senior Living Navigation
My Senior Navigator assists seniors and families in identifying and evaluating senior living options.
We may provide information about:
- Assisted living communities
- Memory care communities
- Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs)
- Board-and-care homes
- Independent living
- In-home caregiving
- Other senior-related resources
Our role is to help families understand their options and facilitate introductions.
The final decision regarding a community or service provider belongs to the senior and/or family.
5. Independent Senior Living Providers
Senior living communities and other providers referred by My Senior Navigator are independently owned and operated.
We do not control their employees, caregivers, policies, pricing, availability, licensing, services, medical decisions, staffing levels, or quality of care.
Information regarding availability, pricing, services, and levels of care may change. Families should independently review all contracts and information provided by a community before making a decision.
6. Referral and Placement Compensation
In many cases, families do not pay My Senior Navigator directly for senior living placement assistance.
My Senior Navigator may receive a referral or placement fee from a senior living community or other provider when an individual we introduce becomes a resident or customer.
The existence of a referral relationship does not guarantee that a particular provider is appropriate for every individual.
Our goal is to identify options based on the information and preferences provided by the senior and family.
7. Real Estate and Other Professional Referrals
When requested, we may introduce families to real estate professionals or other service providers who assist seniors and their families.
These professionals operate independently from San Luis Obispo Caregivers and My Senior Navigator unless expressly stated otherwise.
We may receive a referral fee or other compensation where legally permitted and appropriately disclosed.
Families are free to select their own real estate professional or other service provider.
8. No Medical Advice
Information provided by San Luis Obispo Caregivers or My Senior Navigator is intended for general senior-care navigation and educational purposes.
We do not provide medical diagnoses, medical treatment, nursing advice, legal advice, financial advice, or other licensed professional services unless expressly provided by an appropriately licensed professional.
Medical questions should be directed to the individual’s physician, nurse, hospice provider, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.
In an emergency, call 911.
9. Information Provided by Families
Our recommendations depend substantially upon the information provided to us.
Families should provide accurate and reasonably complete information regarding matters that may affect care or placement, including:
- Mobility and transfer needs
- Dementia or cognitive impairment
- Behavioral concerns
- Medication needs
- Fall history
- Incontinence
- Dietary requirements
- Medical conditions relevant to care
- Hospice involvement
- Financial considerations
- Other significant care requirements
Changes in condition should be communicated promptly.
10. No Guarantee of Placement or Caregiver Availability
We cannot guarantee that a particular caregiver, senior living community, room, service, price, or schedule will be available.
Caregiver and senior living availability can change quickly.
We also cannot guarantee that a caregiver or community will ultimately accept a particular client or resident.
11. Family Responsibility
Families remain responsible for evaluating the suitability of caregivers, communities, and other providers.
We encourage families to ask questions, participate in interviews, tour communities, review licensing information when appropriate, understand costs, and carefully review agreements before making decisions.
12. Privacy and Leads
We take the privacy of families seriously.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or distribute your personal information as a lead.
Information may be provided to caregivers, senior living communities, real estate professionals, or other service providers when you request or authorize us to make an introduction or when reasonably necessary to provide a service you have requested.

13. Communications
By providing your telephone number or email address and requesting information or services, you authorize us to contact you regarding your inquiry and the services you requested.
Communications may include telephone calls, emails, and text messages.
You may request that nonessential communications stop at any time.
14. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information on our websites and educational materials.
However, senior-care regulations, community pricing, availability, insurance rules, government programs, and other information can change.
Website information should therefore not be considered a guarantee of current pricing, eligibility, coverage, availability, or regulatory requirements.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our websites or communications may reference third-party websites, businesses, communities, caregivers, or resources.
We are not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices, accuracy, or operation of independently operated third-party websites or businesses.
16. Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, San Luis Obispo Caregivers and My Senior Navigator are not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of caregivers, senior living communities, real estate professionals, healthcare providers, or other third-party service providers.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to waive or limit rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived or limited.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may periodically update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes in our services, practices, or applicable requirements.
The current version will be identified by the effective date appearing at the top of this document.
18. California
These Terms & Conditions are intended for services provided primarily in California and shall be interpreted consistent with applicable California law.
